14 Things You & Your Dog Will LOVE About Dogs of Tucson

This month of love, we’re here to share all the ways you and your pup can fall for Dogs of Tucson. We’re a local business that’s special– because we’re not just an indoor dog park, or a doggie daycare, we’re a community built for dog lovers! We’re based on the idea of a dog social club: a place where pups and their owners can come together to make connections and lifelong friendships.

Here are some basics of what makes us unique– AKA reasons we think you’ll love it here:

  1. We’ve created a safe, happy environment for everyone.

We do this by not only requiring that dogs are vaccinated and spayed/neutered, but also through social evals that determine when a dog is ready to socialize safely. Our team also provides 24/7 close supervision to all pups, meaning we’re ready to intervene to enforce manners and good play habits, as well as monitor moods.

     2. No one is left out!

We believe that all dogs are good dogs. This means that we don’t have any breed restrictions and that dogs of all sizes are welcome in our space at the same time. This also means that we won’t turn away a dog just because they’re nervous or not used to socializing yet. Even if a dog doesn’t pass our social eval, we’re here to make suggestions and offer park readiness training to help them adjust.

     3. Our dog daycare keeps your pup happy and entertained while you’re busy.

Your dog will love spending quality time with their friends all day, including playtime, enrichment activities, and breaks when they want them. They’ll get to experience being a part of the pack! Meanwhile, you won’t have to feel guilty leaving them alone at home while you’re working, running errands, or taking some time to yourself.

     4. Our facility is made to be comfortable year-round!

Unlike typical parks, our indoor dog park is climate-controlled with AC. We provide dog-friendly furniture, including chairs and beds to lounge on. Our facility also includes an outdoor potty area, which is shaded and properly fenced!

     5. When you’re leaving town, you can schedule your pup a staycation with us!

We do dog boarding differently, so we call them staycations– and that’s because we aim to make them a fun and comfortable sleepover experience that’s unlike what other facilities offer. During the day, your pup will have access to dog daycare and time to run, play, and enjoy time with their friends. Then, at night, they’ll have 24/7 human companionship in a spacious area with a bed, blankets, TV, and any of their items from home.

     6. We host special events every month!

You and your pup are going to love the special events we host, including costume pawties, local markets, enrichment activities, and more! You’ll have the chance to meet other pet parents for some mingling while your dog can enjoy some extra time with their friends. You’ll both enjoy making fun, new memories together!

     7. You’ll have easy access to advice from experts in our field!

Have questions or concerns about your pup? Our professional team would be happy to share our advice! As pet parents, we can share our knowledge and pool community resources to get you advice, referrals, and other help when it’s needed.

     8. The close supervision we offer at our facility is unmatched!

Our rufferees manage our park with small dog to human ratios, meaning each pup gets personal attention. We can easily read how they are feeling, what they’re doing, their safety, and more! We also note any changes and report on them to pet parents– like if we notice any potential medical signs, behavior changes, or even if their mood just seems off.

     9. We’re open late every Thursday night!

Spend some extra quality time with your pup after work with ease on Thursdays, when we’re open until 8pm! It’s a great reason to stop in, socialize, and unwind from the work day in a way that lets your pup socialize and release some extra energy.

     10. There are no closed doors and no spaces without cameras.

We’ve all hear horror stories about accidents at dog businesses where there is, inconveniently, no footage or person present. We’ve designed our facility to ensure that can never happen. Every space is monitored, every dog is within sight of a human at all times, and all of our dog handling is done where it can be seen. We’re fully open-door and digitally-monitored.

     11. We care that your dog is having fun.

Yes, we do. We don’t just mean that we care that they’re safe to socialize– but we care that they enjoy their company, they’re comfortable and confident, and that they’re spending time with dogs and activities that they love. If your dog wants more time alone, we’ll provide it. If your pup prefers certain dogs, we’ll try to keep them close. Everyone has preferences, and we know that dogs do, too. We take that to heart!

     12. We can help teach your puppy how to grow up socialized, with good manners, and good role models.

Every puppy needs guidance. We’re happy to help provide it! We’ll help them: make good introductions with other dogs, learn how to play and be a good friend, and overall, give them a happy, safe space to learn and grow. Puppies need extra attention, care, and patience, and our team is ready for them!

     13. Our sister business, Working for Wags, provides dog walking, drop-ins, and in-home pet sitting!

You’ll love how reliable our local team is. We’re caring professionals that aim to make your dog as happy and comfortable as possible while you’re busy. We offer services year-round including holidays, with the ability to book several months beforehand. Get in touch to learn more!

     14. We’re the happiest place in Tucson.

What our clients are saying.

  • I recommend 100% the service provided by Working For Wags. I found my 16-year-old cat well and relaxed when I returned from vacation. Frankie made it easy to arrange for someone responsible to attend to all his needs with lots of TLC. I received texts and pictures daily. I would hear back quickly if I had questions or needed to change some of the instructions already given. All my gratitude for their outstanding care.

  • We have used Working for Wags twice now, one for an overnight stay and this last time for a week long vacation. I am nervous leaving our pups; it helps a lot knowing they are in our home and not in a kennel. The communication was fabulous both times. I loved receiving pictures of our pups while we were away! Isabel was amazing! I have one pup who can be particular with people; she warmed right up to Isabel! We will definitely use Working for Wags in the future! Thank you for helping to make our vacation great!

  • Angela did such an awesome job with our dogs! This was the first time we have left our dogs in a very long time due to 2 of the 3 being elderly and needing extra care. Angela was very attentive to their needs. We never had to worry about how they were doing because she would send updates via texts with pictures several times a day. Angela also brought up the mail and took care of garbage. I think the house was cleaner when we came home than when we left. I would not hesitate to have Angela back to watch out furry babies.

  • Kristy knew that we were first time doggie parents to leave our babies. She made us feel so comfortable and able to enjoy our vacation.

  • Kristy was fantastic! My pets (dogs and cats) quickly warmed up to her and seemed to really feel comfortable with her (and the other sitter that visited too). I have one EXTRA nervous dog and I was shocked how quickly he warmed up to her. I got frequent updates about my pets and pictures even (which made me so happy and get to see how comfortable my pets were). It 100% put my mind as ease knowing my pets were in such good hands. Would definitely recommend.

  • We had a great first experience with Working for Wags! They came to our house to feed our two pups for several days while we were on vacation. Following their visits, they sent us updates by text and pictures by email, both which were greatly appreciated. They also helped us try to troubleshoot some odd behavior from our dogs, which turned out to be related to a smoke alarm that required battery replacement and was scaring the pups. Overall, we had a very positive experience and will definitely use Working for Wags again when we are out of town. :-)
