Some of us are lifelong friends to dogs. Some of us are new to this. Regardless of where you fall on that spectrum, Friends of Dogs Tucson is a nonprofit here to help. Their mission is to help more dogs find and stay in their forever homes!
It’s their goal to provide education about good pet ownership that will help people and their dogs live together happily for a long time. They want to share the joy of caring for dogs while building a community where humans value dogs and treat them with love and kindness. Their goal is to help prevent abandonment and keep more dogs in loving homes for the duration of their lives.
They offer free classes to all new families of rescued, adopted, or purchased dogs throughout Pima County, as well as discounted training resources and an online community of dog lovers. Their New Pet Family Education classes are here to help give you the skills needed to be a good pet parent, including options for families as well as children’s classrooms.
They’ve also created a hotline for those that want to ask questions about dog ownership. Whether you’re in need of answers to questions or meed some help sorting out problems, they’re ready to provide compassionate expertise. Their experts also here to help you find local support with dog care, including grooming, training, transportation, and more! They will happily refer you to local providers and programs that will help you give your dog everything they deserve. If you’re having problems troubleshooting your dog’s behavioral problems on your own, then it’s okay to ask them help! They’re here to listen with compassion and provide the best advice possible.
