What Makes Dogs of Tucson Special? – 24/7 Human Support
One of the most important differences between Dogs of Tucson and similar businesses in the dog industry is that we keep a very low dog to human ratio, enabling us to give each dog individual human support 24/7. Our team can pay attention to each individual dog, giving our dog pack safer interactions, good play behavior, and proper breaks with water drinking and laying down as needed. Here are some of the benefits of our team’s commitment to offering constant human support:
1. Individual attention means that problems can be quickly noticed and acted on, whether that means an individual medical issue or an interaction that is starting to go poorly between dogs. Having multiple humans in a room where they can keep track of each individual dog means that our team can quickly intervene, which is a huge help for keeping our pups safe.
We know that dogs can quickly shift from good play to a level that is no longer safe, so we aren’t like other facilities that simply watch from cameras in another room or expect one human to supervise a room of 30 plus dogs. In those cases, they don’t have the time or spare attention to notice a problem and prevent a dog from getting hurt. Our team is constantly in the room with our pack, supervising only up to ten dogs per human maximum.
2. Play is well-managed, with humans dedicated to pack management and encouraging good behavior. Always being able to read dog body language and interacting with the pack directly enables us to have a proactive role in supporting good play behavior and keeping the energy balanced.
3. With human attention on each individual dog, we’re able to better use positive reinforcement of good behaviors and take careful care of their basic needs. Our team pays attention, so we’re able to ensure your dog has time outside to relax or go potty, drink water as needed, eat their lunch separately, take a nap or get a social break if wanted, and just generally keep to their normal schedule.
4. Having more humans actively involved in our pack, we’re also able to keep up with meticulous cleaning! Safety of all pups in our park is our number one priority– and that means we stick to strict cleaning standards to avoid the spread of disease, bacteria, and more! This includes cleaning the floors, water bowls, outdoor space, laundry, and more.
5. Individual focus on dogs means we can help each dog feel more comfortable and confident every time they come to see us! We have the time and extra attention ready to handle dogs who are nervous or new to socializing. This allows us to build trust with each dog so that they’re familiar and comfortable with our team, making them happier to come in and ready to listen to our guidance. We can also help promote good behaviors and training your dog has been working on, like with helping your dog get used to their feet being touched, social etiquette, learning that kennels aren’t bad, or knowing when they should take a break from playing. We’re here to meet your dog where they’re at and help them be successful in socializing and growing.
6. Our team’s attention to each dog also enables us to recognize changes, whether they’re physical or behavioral. For instance, we can pick up on when a dog is in a different mood than normal– which may mean they need more space or breaks, lower energy play, or more human affection and encouragement. We’ll also notice details like if their poo is different than normal, if they’re sick, and other signs that they may need to be watched or taken to a vet.
When you rely on our team, we repay that trust by taking good care of your pup. We love and care for each dog individually– so of course we’re also paying close attention to each and every one!
