Something that makes Dogs of Tucson truly special is our team. We take care in choosing who joins our team and training them thoroughly on how to care for our dogs and the rules of our facility. This process is so important to us because we want to ensure that everyone that’s a part of our business not only genuinely cares about animals but also knows how to maintain our safe and happy environment.
We’re not like other dog daycare places. There’s not just one, untrained human put in charge of a room of 20 plus dogs without training. We don’t give our rufferees a water hose that’s supposed to help them control the dogs. We won’t believe that telling our team to just call for help is a replacement for proper training– or any way to maintain park safety. We don’t use training videos, we train in-person and hands-on.
We start by picking the right people! This means reviewing candidates and choosing to interview the people with the most experience. Many of our rufferees have proven experience in professional dog handling and dog behavior, whether they have been studying to be a vet technician or they’ve been pet sitting for many years. We then move forward only with job candidates that can demonstrate their skills as well as a positive attitude and a genuine love of dogs.
The training begins here. Dogs of Tucson has many rules and regulations for a reason! We believe that dogs deserve to have a safe, happy place where they can run, play, and socialize. To train our new rufferees, we teach them in-person. They’re walked through every part of the job including how to handle the dogs, the practices we use to maintain a safe and happy space, and what to do in the case of any issues. We don’t leave new employees alone to figure anything out– and we don’t give them the okay to move past training until we’re sure they can handle what they’ve learned.
Everything our team does is transparent. This means that yes, all of their actions are recorded on camera. They’re also always interacting with the humans visiting the park as well as other team members. No action can go unnoticed in this environment. You can rest assured knowing that this means they’re accountable, respectful, and always held tot he highest standards of care for our pack members.
Our team treats each dog that enters our facility with love and care. We take care of them as if they were our own and would never accept any less.
